do not see any new water coming into the street. in fact if we come back out like we can see in the corner it appears as though we're starting to see the water dissipate through the storm drains. this is a lot of water. it appears to have a lot of debris. this is what would make it complicated for it to completely dry for the storm drain. >> that may be a complication we have now. as you can see the area is surrounded by houses and cars. a lot of these houses especially this one here, you can see the garages under water. you can see the water line on the house. there will be a lot of cleanup to be done before they start answering a lot of questions as to exactly what caused the water main break. >> it appears the water has been shut off which is good news. now cleanup has to began. >> no kidding. it does not look like the kind of what you want to walk through. i

the city are starting to pour into this area to start the cleanup process. the good news is the water has been shut off on this may. let us take a look at the video. and unbelievable sight. they are telling us a 16 in. cast iron water main feeder pipe broke around 230 this morning sending thousands of gallons of water into the street and into cars and into houses. >> basically this area is like a bowl so all the water collected in this area. >> earlier this morning there was speculation that the store had backed up. about a minute ago a spokesman for the public's works department says that is not the case. we thought it was but a sword did not back up. that is really good news. we are being told now crews are starting to get out and excavate. the other good news no one is without water is this point.

apparently . feeder pipe will not have an effect on the residents in this area. we had a chance to talk to a spokesperson from the public works department he had this to say. 3:00 a.m. this morning we had a 16 in. water main break along the intersection of wawona it flooded area and several homes and cars. the water is not visible above the streets the water is still flowing underneath. we have managed to get the water shut off but it will take time for it to drain. >> the bad news is some of these homes and cars and how far the water line is up on them. you can see the cars how far the water went up. this is the waterline on the truck. you can see some of

these lower flying cars got it bad. basically up to the windows with this water that came pouring down. as i said earlier this is basically a bowl. at 15th and wawona is just like the bottom of a bowl that is why the water collected like this. >> are these cars or to be dry when the water recedes? >> i am not and automotive expert but i have to believe cars like this one is ok. cars like these over here is when up to the engine i am not sure what the condition will be of those cars. i can tell you the spokesperson for the public works department told us that also claims people from the city attorney's office is on their way out here to take reports and start helping people. red cross is out here. we have not had

there is a hole in the middle of 15th avenue right now. this is where a water main broke. they will have to do a lot of work. the bad news is that a lot of homes are in this a they have a lot of standing water. these garages are completely flooded. it was a downstairs bedroom were not one person noticed all the water. the water starts coming in at about 2:30 a.m.. this is what caused all of these problems. they

were able to get this cut off about 4:30 a.m. and you can just imagine how much water was coming out of here. this one off for about two hours. they will have a lot to clean up all year. they will also have to repair a pipe. >> i can see that the vacuum truck is out. i want to give georgia in on this as well. will this be an impact on the morning commute? >> luckily, no. this occurred at an area that will not be affected the morning commute. thankfully
